Grote Kerk, Medieval church building in Monster, Netherlands
The Grote Kerk features a three-nave hall structure where the side aisles and central nave share identical heights in Gothic architectural style.
The church foundation dates to 1050, with documented evidence from 1238, while its current form emerged around 1500 through additions to the crossing church.
The Van Dam organ, installed between 1902 and 1904 after a devastating fire, contains 22 stops across two manuals and pedals for religious services.
Visitors can climb the 14th-century tower, which contains a tuff stone base and provides views across the Westland region of South Holland.
The Rotterdam admiralty financially supported the tower restoration in 1662 as the structure served as a navigation point for maritime traffic.
