Sportstad Heerenveen

Sportstad Heerenveen is a multi-purpose sports complex in Heerenveen that combines a martial arts dojo, gymnastics center, swimming pool, and areas for beach sports and inline skating under one roof. The facilities cater to different sports disciplines and training levels, allowing both professionals and recreational users to train together.

The complex was established in 2006 as an integrated center designed to bring sports, healthcare services, and educational offerings together in one location. This combination emerged from a goal to create a central hub for community wellbeing and development.

The complex functions as a community hub where locals gather for tournaments, training sessions, and social sporting events that bring residents together regularly.

The reception desk is available daily from 6:45 AM to 8:30 PM and provides support for memberships, event information, and access to all sports facilities. Visitors should check beforehand which activities match their interests and fitness level.

The gymnastics center bears the name of Dutch Olympic champion Epke Zonderland and features specialized equipment for professional training and competitions. This connection with a world-class athlete makes the facility a training center of international standard.
