The Coendersborg features a symmetrical five-bay facade with a central pediment and a balcony supported by wooden balusters above the entrance.
The current structure, built in 1813, emerged from the merging of three estates: Fossemaheerd, Harkemaplaats, and Heringheplaats, previously owned by notable families.
The borg includes museum rooms in the old stable and ground floor, presenting exhibits about the estate's history through stories of former residents.
Visitors can explore the estate every Sunday afternoon from May through October, with guided tours conducted by Het Groninger Landschap volunteers.
The 250-meter oak-lined driveway intersects with Malijksepad, one of the Netherlands' oldest footpaths, leading to wrought iron gates classified as national monuments.
