During World War II, the archives of Ammerzoden were destroyed, taking with them the documented origins of this hamlet's unusual name.
From 1811 to 1999, this small settlement belonged to Ammerzoden before becoming part of the larger Maasdriel municipality through administrative reorganization.
While administratively part of Hedel, the settlement is physically located directly before entering Ammerzoden, creating a connection between both communities.
The settlement once featured an inn that shared its name, suggesting possible historical significance as a stopping point for travelers in the region.
