Amsteldok, Office complex in Rivierenbuurt, Netherlands
Located along the Amstel River, Amsteldok features eight levels with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and six million white tiles covering its exterior walls.
The building, completed in 1973 under Hugh Maaskant's design, initially stood as Europe's largest office structure before undergoing substantial renovation in 2018.
The renovation by MVSA Architects transformed the concrete structure into a modern creative center housing multiple global companies including WPP and Messagebird.
The stepped horizontal design of the building prevents sunlight blockage to street level while providing extensive office space across multiple floors.
The structure contains continuous voids throughout its floors and multiple planted roof terraces, with a dedicated sky lounge on the ninth floor.
