Theater PePijn, Small theater in The Hague, Netherlands
Theater PePijn is a performance venue in The Hague housed in a converted industrial building on Nieuwe Schoolstraat, holding roughly one hundred spectators in its intimate main space. The layout allows for flexible staging of different types of shows in a central city location.
The venue was created in 1964 when Paul van Vliet transformed a warehouse into a performance space for his ensemble. Since then it has developed as a place for innovative artistic work.
The theater serves as an important venue for Dutch cabaret and experimental performances, where audiences regularly experience innovative comedy and artistic exploration. This role has made it a gathering place where artists and spectators interact naturally.
The venue is easily reached by public transportation and has bicycle parking directly outside the building. Visitors driving cars can find parking at Museumkwartier or Malieveld nearby.
After performances, artists and audiences regularly gather at the theater bar to chat informally and build personal connections. This after-show tradition is an important part of what makes the experience here feel different.
