Klooster Marienbosch, Nijmegen

Klooster Marienbosch is a student housing complex built from dark brick walls with sandstone decorations, containing around 347 individual apartments arranged across multiple wings. The facility evolved from a former monastery that was later converted into modern residential accommodation for students.

The complex was built in 1924 as a monastery and girls' boarding school, originally housing the Sisters of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. It underwent significant renovation to transform it into a contemporary student residence.

The structure displays architectural features of Art Deco and brick expressionism, with the chapel set within the cloister courtyard as a focal point. You can see how religious and artistic elements blend throughout the building's design.

The site is easily accessible and equipped with modern facilities and sustainable energy systems including wood-fired heating. The apartments are compact but functionally designed, and the location provides good connections to the city center.
