The main building of Klarenbeek estate stands with its white plastered walls, blue Dutch-tiled roof, and ornamental gable facing the Zuiderzeestraatweg.
Built in 1842 for H.F. van Meurs, mayor of Harderwijk and member of the Eerste Kamer, the estate played a role in the development of regional transportation.
The interior design by architect Henk Wegerif incorporates sandstone elements and woodwork featuring historical figures, reflecting nineteenth-century Dutch architectural traditions.
The former coach house has undergone modifications to accommodate residential purposes while maintaining its protected status as a national monument.
The estate's garden, designed by Dirk Tersteeg in 1919, preserves elements of the original English landscape style within its twenty-hectare grounds.
