Simon van Gijn, a banker and collector, turned his residence into this museum, filling it with paintings, prints, arms, ships, furniture, and ceramics.
The museum collection includes period costumes, historical artifacts, and a comprehensive display of 19th-century toys in the attic section.
Located at Nieuwe Haven 29-30 in Dordrecht, the museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00, with admission free for visitors under 18.
Visitors can participate in special winter tours called Lichtjesrondleiding and try on period costumes in the dedicated Verkleedzolder room.
