Sint Bonifatiuskerk, Catholic church in Zaandam, Netherlands.
Sint Bonifatiuskerk is a Catholic church in Zaandam with a square tower, three naves, and grey brick walls decorated with natural stone patterns. The building provides space for services and community gatherings throughout the year.
It was built between 1899 and 1900 to replace a wooden prayer house from 1785 that had served the growing Catholic community. The new construction reflected the need for a larger space as the neighborhood expanded.
Stained glass windows inside show scenes from Saint Bonifatius's life, and banners from local Catholic associations hang throughout the space. These decorations reflect how deeply the faith shaped community life in this neighborhood.
The building reopened in September 2016 after major repairs and is open to visitors. Regular services and events take place here, so check beforehand when you can visit.
Inside is a historical Mitterreither organ from 1786 positioned above the entrance. This instrument was carefully restored in 1974 and 1993, adding to the special sound of services.
