Veenkoloniaal Museum

The Veenkoloniaal Museum is a regional museum in Veendam that documents the history of peat colonies, maritime trade, and agricultural development in the Groninger region. The exhibition features detailed artifacts and photographs that show how people lived and worked in this area.

The building dates from 1911 and served as a school until 1989, when it became a cultural institution. This transformation allowed the region's heritage and stories to be preserved and shared with the public.
