Watertoren

The Watertoren is an octagonal tower near Scheveningen that rises approximately 49 meters and is topped with a copper dome. Its brick facade is marked by vertical niches and decorative round-arch friezes that structure the building's appearance.

The tower was built in 1874 to support water extraction from the surrounding dunes and provide reliable infrastructure for the growing region. The project resulted from technical advances that made large-scale water storage possible.
