Grote Kerk

The Grote Kerk stands at Loolaan 16 with its Neo-Renaissance architecture, featuring high ceilings and large windows that illuminate the interior space.

Princess Wilhelmina laid the first stone of the church in 1891 at age 10, and the building was completed on the foundations of a previous church from 1842.

The church contains the Koninginnebank, a designated seating area that served the Dutch royal family until 1985, reflecting the connection between church and monarchy.

The church accommodates 1,500 people and maintains regular Sunday services while hosting various events including weddings, concerts, and community gatherings throughout the week.

The Bätz Witte organ, installed in 1896, received multiple expansions over the years, growing from its original 30 stops to include an additional manual and 12 stops.
