Brouwerij De Ridder, Historical brewery building in Wyck, Netherlands
The five-story brewery stands directly along the Maas River, featuring industrial architecture with large windows and red brick construction.
Established in 1857 when Maastricht had forty breweries, the facility operated until 2002 when Heineken ceased production after acquiring it in 1982.
The brewery represents Maastricht's industrial heritage as the final operational brewery in a Dutch city center during the 1990s.
The building currently houses Stadsbrouwerij Maastricht, which maintains brewing operations and provides tours showcasing traditional beer production methods.
The structure, designed by architect Jos Joosten in 1929, combines industrial functionality with architectural elements of Dutch Expressionism.
