Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche, Historic château in Baarn, Netherlands
Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche is a three-story château built in 1912 and situated on a 19-hectare estate surrounded by woodlands. The building contains multiple reception areas, garden spaces, and a carriage house with meeting facilities.
Architect Eduard Cuypers designed the castle in 1910 in an eclectic style for Johannes Adrianus Leonard van den Bosch, a naval officer. Construction was completed in 1912.
Maritime decorative details throughout the rooms reflect the naval heritage of the original owner and the Dutch connection to seafaring traditions. These elements remain visible today as reminders of the family's background.
The castle offers 19 guest rooms and six meeting spaces in the carriage house for various events. Electric vehicle charging stations are available on the grounds for visitor convenience.
Landscape architect Dirk Tersteeg expanded the Serpentine pond through excavation work extending about 1,500 meters. The dug soil was used to create raised areas now called Bloedberg.
