Huis van Brecht, Military medical heritage building in Breda, Netherlands
The structure features a vaulted gallery along perpendicular wings and contains a round-arched entrance gate leading to an inner courtyard.
Built between 1300 and 1350, the building received its name in 1427 when Jan van Brecht acquired it through marriage.
The building serves as the library of the Royal Military Academy since 1993, preserving centuries of military and medical knowledge.
Located at Kasteelplein 10, this Rijksmonument combines historical architecture with modern educational facilities for military personnel.
The structure survived the devastating fires of 1490 and 1534, remaining one of the oldest preserved buildings in Breda.
