Huis De Ehze

Huis De Ehze is a country house designed in English architectural style, standing on spacious grounds with landscaped gardens and open areas. The main building sits above medieval cellars that survive from much earlier times.

The property was founded around 1300 and went through many changes over the following centuries. The building you see today was completely rebuilt in 1919 but kept the medieval cellars beneath it.

The estate represents a type of noble residence that shaped the countryside around here for centuries. You can see how the grounds and main house still reflect the life and status of families who once held land across this region.

The grounds have been managed since 1986 and offer walking paths through the landscaped areas for visitors to explore. The main building functions as a care facility today, so access to the interior is restricted.

The gardens were redesigned in 1935 by a landscape architect and showcase English garden traditions. These carefully shaped green spaces remain a highlight for visitors and show the skilled work from that period.
