Huis De Ehze, Former castle turned villa in Lochem, Netherlands

The current building of Huis De Ehze features English country house architectural elements, standing amid landscaped grounds with historical gardens near Almen.

Originally constructed around 1300 by Frederick de Hekere, the estate underwent multiple transformations until its complete rebuilding in 1919 upon medieval cellars.

Huis De Ehze stands as one of the 36 recognized havezaten in the former Quarter of Zutphen, representing historical nobility residences in Gelderland.

The estate grounds, managed by Het Geldersch Landschap since 1986, offer walking paths while the main building serves as a care institution.

The property contains gardens redesigned in 1935 by landscape architect J.D. Zocher, incorporating elements of traditional English garden design.
