Slot Zeist is a 17th-century château with classical architecture and formal gardens laid out along a central axis. The main building is complemented by expansive grounds that stretch across the landscape.
Jacob Roman designed the building in 1686 for Willem Adriaan, Count of Nassau-Odijk. The construction reflected the desires of a high-ranking member of Dutch aristocracy from that period.
The rooms showcase French classicism through ornate details designed by Daniel Marot. This decoration reflects the taste of European nobility from the 17th century.
The château is used for conferences and events with both indoor and outdoor spaces available. Visitors should note that access depends on opening times and its current status as an event venue.
A tea pavilion with a hexagonal dome sits in a corner of the grounds. This small building is decorated with French embellishments and shows the owner's focus on European trends.
