Sportpark Houtrust
Sportpark Houtrust is a sports facility in The Hague with indoor and outdoor areas for various activities. The main sports hall is approximately 50 meters long and 30 meters wide with a 9-meter high ceiling without columns, accommodating basketball, volleyball, and badminton, while the outdoor areas include soccer fields, tennis courts, and beach volleyball courts.
The park was established around 1910 on the grounds of a historic estate and quickly became an important sports center for the city. After World War II, the facilities were modernized, and new sports halls were built in the 1970s that shaped the park into its current form.
The name comes from a historic estate that once occupied this land. Today the park serves as a gathering place for the local community, where residents of all ages come together to play sports and connect with neighbors.
The park is easily accessible by public transport, with bus stops near the main facilities. Visitors should know that the grounds have open green spaces and well-maintained paths for walking and cycling, and can use different areas depending on the activity they plan to do.
A special aspect of the park is the tennis club Never Out with outdoor courts for all skill levels, which is particularly lively during summer months. Beach volleyball is also popular here and takes advantage of the area's coastal climate.
