Windlust, Burum

Windlust is an octagonal mill in Burum featuring four sails that span over 22 meters across. Inside, two pairs of French Burr millstones handle the grinding of pearl barley for local use.

The original mill was destroyed by fire in 2012, but was rebuilt in 2014 following traditional designs. The new version preserves the classic Dutch construction style and function of the earlier structure.
