Westpoint Tower, Skyscraper in Tilburg, Netherlands
Westpoint Tower is a modern residential skyscraper in Tilburg that reaches 142 meters (466 feet) tall across 47 stories. It contains 156 apartments of varying sizes and stands as the tallest residential structure in North Brabant.
Construction began in 2001 and finished in 2004, replacing a previous structure that had fallen into underuse. The project transformed the site into a major residential landmark for the city.
The tower features colored patterns designed by artist Herman Kuijer, with lighting between floors that makes these artistic elements glow after dark. This visual treatment gives the building a distinctive character in the city skyline.
The building offers both rental and owned apartments ranging from about 120 to 310 square meters to suit different needs. Visitors can explore the exterior and surroundings to appreciate the architecture and its location within the city center.
The foundation rests on 256 concrete piles, each 60 centimeters (24 inches) in diameter, engineered to support the tower's full height. This hidden structural system reveals the engineering complexity beneath what visitors see from street level.
