Center Parcs Limburgse Peel, holiday village in the Netherlands
Center Parcs Limburgse Peel is a holiday village with wooden cottages, a covered water park, and play areas in Horst aan de Maas, in the Dutch province of Limburg. The site also has a Market Dome with shops and food stands, a farm with animals, and outdoor playgrounds spread across the grounds.
The holiday village opened in 1981 under the name Gran Dorado, making it one of the first of its kind in the Netherlands. Over the following decades it changed ownership and names several times before taking its current name in 2011.
The park takes its name from the Limburgse Peel, a heathland region that stretches across the border area between the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The wooden cottages and open countryside around the site reflect the rural character of this part of Limburg.
The grounds are large, so it helps to look at a map before heading out to find specific areas like the water park or the farm. Some parts of the site can get very busy during school holidays, so visiting on a weekday tends to be more relaxed.
An escape room called Forbidden Floor is set up within the grounds, where groups work together to solve puzzles against the clock. Guests can also rent E-Choppers, electric scooters that allow them to explore the countryside around the park at their own pace.
