The Molen van Schoonoord is an octagonal mill featuring a three-story brick base and wooden upper structure built to catch the wind. It was equipped with sails and millstones that could grind grain when operated.
The structure was built in 1854 and rebuilt in 1903 after storm damage using materials from another mill in a nearby region. These repairs show how mill owners worked to restore their buildings and keep them operational.
