Lyndenstein, Neoclassical mansion in Beetsterzwaag, Netherlands.
Lyndenstein is a neoclassical mansion in Beetsterzwaag with a rectangular form, seven bays on its front facade, and a prominent central section topped by chimneys at each corner of the hipped roof. The estate surrounds a winding pond with walking paths that guide visitors through the landscaped gardens.
Built in 1821-1822, the mansion received major alterations in 1915 when its entrance was transformed into a covered porch with an overhanging balcony above. These renovations shaped much of its present-day appearance.
The interior displays historical decorative elements like ornamental plaster ceilings and original wooden details, offering a glimpse into 19th century domestic life.
The gardens can be explored on foot with walking paths winding through the landscaped grounds around the pond. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking across varied terrain for a reasonable distance.
A commemorative stone on the right gable marks the construction by Frans Godard van Lynden, while a relief portrait from 1878 by sculptor Pier Pander adorns the entrance hall. These artistic details preserve the story of the family who built the house.
