Stadhuis Roermond

Roermond's town hall is an administrative building with a substantial stone facade from the 1700s, decorated with classical architectural details. Inside are office spaces, meeting halls, and rooms for the city's official functions.

The original building was destroyed by fire in 1554, but the city rebuilt it. In the 1700s it received its current appearance with the classical stone facade that survives today.

The building overlooks the market square, where the town's public life has centered for centuries. It serves as a key meeting point where residents conduct administrative matters and official ceremonies take place.

The town hall sits on the market square in the city center and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors can admire the exterior at any time, though the interior is mainly used for municipal administrative purposes.

In the early 1900s a dedicated council chamber was added to meet growing demands of city government. Several decades later the neighboring property was incorporated to expand the building and create more workspace.
