Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Photography museum on Keizersgracht, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Foam Fotografiemuseum is a photography museum located in a historic canal house on the Keizersgracht. The building contains multiple exhibition spaces across several floors dedicated to showing photographic work in various forms.
The museum was founded in December 2001 and officially opened in June 2002 after renovations by BenthemCrouwel architects. These renovations adapted the historic building for its new role as an art institution.
The museum presents rotating exhibitions featuring both established and emerging photographers from around the world. The shows change several times yearly, offering visitors fresh perspectives on contemporary and documentary photography each time.
The museum is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and does not reduce hours during winter. On Thursday and Friday, visitors can stay until 21:00, giving extra time to explore the exhibitions.
The museum publishes its own magazine called Foam, released four times yearly, presenting international photographers and themes. This publication is distributed internationally and provides emerging photographers with an important platform.
