Sint-Lambertuskerk

Sint-Lambertuskerk is a church building in Horst aan de Maas featuring a distinctive tower approximately 68 meters tall. The interior houses three large bells and displays post-war architectural design throughout its spaces.

The current church was completed in 1952, replacing an earlier structure from 1219 that was destroyed by German forces in 1944. The reconstruction was part of the town's recovery following the war.

The interior windows showcase modern stained glass created by Dutch artists in the post-war period. These works shape how light and color fill the worship space today.

Archaeological digs beneath the current building uncovered remains of an older Romanesque chapel. These discoveries reveal that this location has been a center of religious life since medieval times.
