Torenfort aan de Ossenmarkt, Tower fort in Weesp, Netherlands
The round fortification structure measures 34 meters in diameter, features two floors, and contains walls that are 1.8 meters thick.
Built in 1861 as part of the New Dutch Water Line, the fort protected the river Vecht banks and the Amsterdam-Hilversum railway connection.
The fort currently houses the Kreatieve Groep Weesp and a music school, serving as an educational and artistic center for local residents.
Located at Ossenmarkt 44 in Weesp, the fort opens its doors to visitors during specific events throughout the year.
The original gun battery on the roof was replaced with a thick layer of sand to enhance protection against advancing military technologies.
