Natuurdiorama Holterberg

Natuurdiorama Holterberg displays over 1000 European animal species across eleven large dioramas that recreate habitats from the Sallandse Heuvelrug hills to the Alps. Each display shows animals in realistic settings that reflect where they naturally live and how they interact with their surroundings.

The museum was founded more than 80 years ago by Piet Bos and ranks among the oldest natural history institutions in the Netherlands. Its long history reflects how museums have shared knowledge about nature with the public over many decades.
