Dolhuis, Historic medical facility in central Dordrecht, Netherlands
The Dolhuis features two Gothic gables with segment-shaped frontons and volutes, along with pointed arched doorways in its eastern facade.
Originally constructed in 1463 as a monastery for the Cellebroeders order, the building transformed into a mental health facility from 1572 until 1723.
The building received the status of Rijksmonument for its architectural elements and its role in the development of mental healthcare in the Netherlands.
Located at Dolhuisstraat 55, the building now functions as an entertainment venue with a club, cafe, and spaces for concerts and private events.
The eastern side of the structure retains visible medieval support beams from its original construction period in the fifteenth century.
