The De Tempel estate features extensive gardens with geometric ponds, winding paths, decorative bridges, and a collection of classical sculptures across its grounds.
Built around 1695 by Johan van der Hoeven, the estate underwent major transformations between 1706 and 1715, including the creation of gardens and water systems.
The estate combines three garden styles: 18th-century geometric, 19th-century landscape, and early 20th-century architectural designs in one cohesive space.
Visitors need advance permission for groups exceeding 20 people, and parking facilities are available on-site with free access for Natuurmonumenten members.
The property maintains its original water-spouting dolphin feature from the 18th century and houses marble busts of Apollo and Diana from Zijdebalen in Utrecht.
