Jagtlust

Jagtlust is a mansion in 's-Graveland featuring black cross tiles and a flat roof, topped by a distinctive round tower containing a spiral staircase. The property includes several additions, notably a three-sided extension and an angled orangery structure.

The property began as a simple estate and underwent major changes around 1900 when architects Schill and Haverkamp completed extensive renovations. These modifications created the distinctive features you see in the house today.

The Six family shaped the home with their academic and artistic interests, which you can see reflected in the rooms and their design details. These personal touches remain visible in how the spaces are arranged and decorated today.

The mansion sits along Leeuwenlaan and is surrounded by gardens accessible from the courtyard areas. Visitors can explore the various rooms and should allow time to see special features like the orangery and stairwell tower.

The interior houses the only remaining indoor orangery in the Netherlands, decorated with Louis XV style stucco details. This orangery connects the indoor spaces to the surrounding gardens in an unusual way.
