Villa Tindal

Villa Tindal is an early 20th-century residence with multiple entrances providing access to ground-floor living spaces, connected by an original staircase to the upper floors. An English garden and a converted coach house complete the property, which occupies a substantial site on Nieuwe 's-Gravelandseweg in Bussum.

Built in 1902 by architect Gerrit Jan Vos for entrepreneur Louis Adrianus Tindal, the villa initially served as a girls' boarding school during its early years. The property later changed functions and eventually became a venue for cultural activities under a foundation established in 1987.

The villa serves as a concert venue where chamber music performances take place in an intimate hall designed for about one hundred listeners. This musical function shapes how visitors experience the space today, making it a gathering place for local audiences.

The property is accessible from Nieuwe 's-Gravelandseweg in Bussum and features parking and a pathway to the main entrance. Note that access may be limited during concert performances, so check ahead if you plan to visit outside scheduled events.

A new tower was installed on the roof in spring 2021, recreating the original architectural feature that had been missing for decades. This restoration brought back a key element that defines the building's silhouette when viewed from outside.
