't Rozendael

't Rozendael is a country estate in Raalte with a two-story house featuring white plaster, gray roof tiles, cast-iron pillars, and a central entrance set within a landscaped park. The main residence is accompanied by a coach house, gardener's residence, walled kitchen garden, and greenhouses that form a complete working complex.

The site began in 1394 as a grain storage facility for a working farm and was transformed in 1676 when Johan Voet built a house alongside the original structure. This change marked the shift from a purely agricultural operation to a residential estate used by the landowning family.

The estate reflects the history of the Van Ittersum family, whose presence shaped the property across generations. Red and white painted details on the farm buildings and striped window shutters display traditional markers of Dutch country ownership and family identity.

The estate is located on Rozendaelseweg 3 within Raalte municipality and is accessible by car. The property spreads over a large area with pathways connecting the different buildings, so comfortable shoes and time to walk around are recommended.
