Aquazoo Leerdam is a facility combining aquariums and terrariums that houses fish, amphibians, and reptiles from different habitats around the world. The spaces are designed to recreate natural environments where each species can thrive in conditions similar to their native homes.
The facility was founded in 1991 as an exhibition and received official zoo status in 2003. This progression shows how the project evolved from a simple display into a recognized conservation institution.
