The KPN-toren reaches a height of 149.2 meters with its antenna system and stands as the tallest structure in the industrial district of Haarlem.
Construction of the telecommunications tower began in 1967 and concluded in September 1968, utilizing sliding formwork methods that completed the structure in 25 days.
The tower functions as a nesting site for peregrine falcons at 112 meters above ground, with a dedicated nesting box installed in 2008.
Since 2007, the structure has transformed from a telecommunications tower into a data center facility, providing 24-hour monitoring and security services.
The tower's engineering requires exceptional rigidity to maintain telecommunications equipment within 0.5 degrees of rotation even during strong winds.
