St John's Church, Gothic Revival church in Bergenhus, Norway
St John's Church features a cruciform layout with a main tower reaching 61 meters, making it the tallest church tower in Bergen.
The church construction started in 1891 after an architectural competition, with Herman Major Backer leading the design and completion in 1894.
The church interior contains frescoes painted by Hugo Lous Mohr in 1924 and an altarpiece depicting Christ in prayer by Marcus Grønvold.
Located at Sydnesplassen 5, the church serves as one of five religious buildings in the Bergen Cathedral parish within the Diocese of Bjørgvin.
The church organ, built by Schlag and Sohn from Wurttemberg, underwent modernization by JH Jørgensen of Oslo in 1967.
