Polar Museum

The Polar Museum is an institution in Tromsø dedicated to Arctic exploration and research. Its collections display expedition gear, historical photographs, maps, and scientific instruments used by explorers working in polar regions.

It opened in 1978 and occupies buildings that originally served as customs houses from the 1830s. This transformation into a research center reflects Tromsø's growing interest in documenting the history of polar exploration.
