Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, Art museum in Tromsø, Norway
The Northern Norwegian Art Museum holds 2,250 artworks from the late 18th century to present day, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, and textiles.
Founded in 1985, the museum resides in a 1917 building originally constructed as post and telegraph offices before becoming a cultural institution.
The museum exhibits regional and international artists, featuring works by Peder Balke, Harriet Backer, Anna-Eva Bergman, and Olav Christopher Jenssen.
Located at Sjøgata 1, the museum opens daily from 10 AM to 5 PM with extended hours until 8 PM on Thursdays, charging 80 NOK for adults.
The museum organizes traveling exhibitions across Nordland, Troms, Finnmark, and Svalbard, extending its reach throughout Northern Norway.
