Karmsund Bridge, Steel arch road bridge in Karmøy Municipality, Norway.

The Karmsund Bridge extends 691 meters across the Karmsundet strait, featuring 37 spans with a main span measuring 184 meters in width.

The construction of Karmsund Bridge in 1955 marked a substantial advancement in Norwegian infrastructure, connecting the island of Karmøy to the mainland.

The bridge stands near ancient maritime routes where, according to Norse mythology, Thor would wade through Karmsund strait toward Yggdrasil each morning.

The structure carries European route E134 highway traffic and maintains a clearance of 46 meters below, allowing maritime vessels to pass underneath.

Three power lines cross near the bridge, supported by 143-meter electricity pylons, which stand as the tallest electrical structures in Norway.
