Kadettangen, Coastal promontory in Sandvika, Norway.
Kadettangen is a promontory extending into the Oslofjord with a beach, diving tower, volleyball courts, and permanent grilling stations. The entire site serves as a hub for water sports enthusiasts and people looking to spend time outdoors.
The peninsula served as a training ground for the Norwegian Military Academy from 1869 to 1894, giving it the name Kadettangen. After military use ended, it was converted into a public recreational area.
The peninsula hosts the annual Kadetten music festival and functions as the home ground for the Bærum Sports Club football team.
The promontory can be reached via bus lines 705 and 706 or through Sandvika railway station, with showers and wheelchair-accessible paths available. Plan enough time to explore all areas since the entire site is quite spread out.
A permanent bridge has connected this site to Kalvøya island since 1963, creating a unique link between water sports and island exploration. This bridge makes it easy for visitors to move between both locations.
