Trondenes Historical Center

The Trondenes Historical Center displays over 2000 years of regional history through artifacts, paintings, and comprehensive exhibitions about Viking settlements and medieval life.

The museum stands near the location where local chieftain Thorir Hund, who killed Norway's Patron Saint Olav during the Battle of Stiklestad in 1030, held power.

The center maintains exhibitions detailing Norse traditions, maritime activities, and social structures from the Viking Age through medieval times to World War II.

Located at Trondenesveien 122 in Harstad, the museum includes wheelchair accessible facilities, a cafeteria, and conference rooms across 1,860 square meters.

The facility features a reconstructed medieval farm from 1220, opened in 2019, showing exact living conditions of the period.
