Trondenes Historical Center

The Trondenes Historical Center is a museum in Harstad that presents regional history from the Viking Age to the twentieth century. The exhibitions contain objects, artworks, and information about settlement and daily life across different periods.

The region was an important place for Vikings and farmers over thousands of years. The museum tells how the land and its people changed from medieval times through to more recent centuries.

The center displays how people lived and worked in this region across many centuries. Visitors can see how Viking and medieval farmers furnished their homes and which objects they used in daily life.

The museum offers space to relax and eat in its cafeteria area. Visitors with mobility needs will find wheelchair accessible entrances and plenty of room to move around.

A reconstructed medieval farmhouse shows how people actually lived about 800 years ago. The reconstruction was built using historical methods and lets visitors see how tight and functional these rooms were.
