Port of Moss

The Port of Moss is located on the western shore of Mossesundet and connects directly to the Oslo Fjord waterway. The facility features modern structures for container handling, storage areas, and vessel operations arranged along the waterfront.

Operations consolidated at Værlebukta during the 1990s, allowing large waterfront areas to be released for city development. This shift freed space for Moss to transform and grow beyond its purely maritime functions.

The port plays a central role in Moss's identity and serves as a working gateway for the region's trade. You can observe how the facility remains integral to the community's daily rhythm and economy.

The port has a guest harbor with water supply, electricity, and facilities including showers and service rooms. The layout is straightforward and facilities are designed for modern vessel operations.

Starting in 2025, container handling operations will be fully electric, eliminating emissions and reducing noise across the facility. This shift positions it as a leader in sustainable port technology.
