Porta Mariae

Porta Mariae is a neoclassical triumphal arch in Naga built as a religious monument with a central gateway flanked by two smaller side entrances. The structure follows classical proportions and is positioned directly across from the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral on Barlin Street.

The Archdiocese of Cáceres commissioned this arch in 2010 to commemorate 3 centuries of devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia in the region. This construction represents a modern effort to honor a tradition that has defined the area's spiritual life for generations.

The arch displays religious symbols that reflect the deep local devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia, the patron saint of the region. These sacred elements shape how people experience and use the monument during religious processions and celebrations.

The arch sits on Barlin Street across from the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, making it easy to locate while walking through the city center. The site offers space for viewing the structure from multiple angles without obstruction.
