Puszczykowo

Puszczykowo is an urban municipality situated along the Warta River south of Poznań. The settlement spreads across the landscape with the river forming a defining feature of the local geography.

The settlement first appeared in written records in 1387, while a neighboring village had been documented a century earlier. The railway line that opened in 1856 transformed the area into a commuter destination.

The municipality is closely linked to painter Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski, who captured the local landscapes in his 19th-century works. His artistic vision remains connected to how people see this region today.

Regular train services connect to Poznań, making it straightforward for visitors to reach the town from the city center. Walking paths and green spaces around the area are easily accessible and worth exploring.

The town sits right next to Wielkopolski National Park, giving visitors direct access to protected natural areas from their doorstep. The walking trails here pass through diverse habitats that many people don't realize are so close to the urban areas nearby.
