Sieniawa

Sieniawa is a town along the San River in Podkarpackie Voivodeship with brick buildings clustered in its center, forming a characteristic southeastern Polish urban layout. The streets and squares follow a classical plan shaped by waterways and historical fortification systems.

The settlement was founded in 1676 when Mikolaj Hieronim Sieniawski established it as an administrative center and built fortifications around it. These defenses were designed to protect the growing community from raids.

The town preserves architectural elements from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth period, visible in its walls and religious structures. These buildings shape how the streets look today and reflect how people have built and lived here for centuries.
