Dąbrowa Tarnowska lies at the intersection of the Carpathian Foothills and Sandomierz Basin, with the Bren River flowing through its territory.
The area received town privileges in 1693, following the construction of a Baroque palace by Michal Lubomirski between 1683 and 1693.
The town presents architectural elements from different periods, including a 19th-century synagogue and the remaining gate of the Lubomirski palace.
Located 16 kilometers north of Tarnów, the town functions as the administrative center for Dąbrowa County, serving a population of 11,828 residents.
The name Dąbrowa stems from Polish words referring to oak groves that characterized the landscape during the town's early development.
