Pajęczno

Pajęczno is a municipality in Łódź Voivodeship located in central Poland. The town sits as part of the local administrative structure in this region of the country.

The settlement appears in written records starting in 1140 and received town rights in 1276, though these were lost in 1870. Municipal status returned in 1958 and has shaped local governance since then.

The municipality preserves memories of its Jewish community, which reached about 700 members by 1939 and left behind genealogical records from the late 1700s. These archives tell stories of families who lived and worked in the area.

Visitors will find a small municipality with basic services and local facilities for everyday needs. The best time to visit is outside the winter months when roads are more accessible.

An unusual incident occurred in 2019 when someone drove a Soviet-era tank through the town streets. Local authorities quickly stopped this remarkable scene.
