Drawsko Pomorskie, Administrative center in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland
The town extends across 22.24 square kilometers along the Drawa River, featuring forests and connections to Lake Lubie in northwestern Poland.
Slavic tribes established the first settlement in the 7th century, constructing a fortress north of Lake Lubie near the current town location.
The town obtained Magdeburg city rights in 1297, marking a period of German colonization under the direction of Brandenburg authorities.
The Drawsko Training Ground near the town serves as a major military facility, providing extensive areas for national and NATO military exercises.
In 1368, the town hosted the signing of a territorial peace treaty between Brandenburg Elector Otto VII and Polish King Casimir III.
