Żuraw in Gdańsk, Medieval port crane and gate in Gdańsk, Poland.

The twin-towered brick structure rises 30 meters above the Motława River, featuring two pairs of wooden treadwheels for lifting cargo and ship masts.

Built between 1442 and 1444 after a fire destroyed the original 1367 wooden crane, this construction remained operational until significant damage in 1945.

The Crane houses exhibits of the National Maritime Museum, showcasing Gdańsk's maritime heritage through artifacts and interactive displays about port operations.

Visitors can access the Crane Tuesday through Sunday, with regular tours available in multiple languages and tickets priced at 75 PLN for adults.

The mechanism could lift two tons to 27 meters high using four workers walking inside each treadwheel, making it the largest medieval port crane in Europe.
